One of the biggest trends for fall is PLAID! Now that you’re taking note of this, I promise, you’ll see it everywhere. Designers are putting it on skirts, blouses, jackets, dresses, shoes, and even home goods. Black and white plaid is such a classic and doesn’t have to be “masculine” either. It can be dressed up or down depending on the silhouette and can be styled in many different ways. Here, I’ve paired it with a sexy crop top for one look and a casual graphic tee for another. I have also posted 2 more looks EXCLUSIVELY on the LIKEtoKNOW.it app (which is free), so make sure you click on the link at the bottom of this post to take a look at them. I love how they turned out!
LOOK #1 – Sexy Office / Date Night
I was so excited when I put this look together! I paired this classic plaid pencil skirt (which is so cheap right now), with this adorable polka dot (which is another huge trend this fall) crop top. It’s a little bit sexy for 9 to 5 wear, but you could definitely change it up quickly. Wear the skirt with some black pumps and a classic black blouse to work and when you’re going out for the night, change into the crop top and add some strappy stilettos. Done!

LOOK #2 – Edgy Casual
For look #2, I took this classic plaid blazer and edged it up a bit with a graphic tee, black denim skirt and booties. This really goes to show how it can be morphed into two very different outfits just by changing up the styling a bit. I have been wearing this plaid blazer so much lately because it goes with everything and I love the fit (it runs large, I’m wearing an XXS). The fabric is stretchy and so comfortable to wear! I think next I’m going to pair it with a black hoodie and some flats for an elevated casual look.

I can’t stress to you enough, how big this plaid trend really is and I think EVERYBODY can get on board with it. It’s really not a “trend” in my mind. Plaid has always been there and always will be! If there is one thing you purchase this fall season, it should definitely be something plaid. (And even though I’ve styled it with all black and white pieces, remember it’s a neutral. Pair it with color and even other prints! In this photo, I’ve paired it with a leopard print shoe for a really stunning look.)
