Hello friends! I’m back! I took a much needed break from posting so that I could spend the last bit of winter break with my family and it was fabulous. Now, we’re back to our normal schedule and I’m loving it. The kids are back in school and I finally have some alone time. 😉 Any of you other mamas out there feel the same way?
I want to start off by saying THANK YOU to all of you for following along my journey these past 9 months. Starting The Style Drive Thru was something I have always wanted to do and I am so grateful for all of you that have joined with me and always like, comment, and message me the sweetest words. You’re seriously the best!
2018 was a year full of learning and good old hard work. As you all know, Instagram and the rest of social media is a highlight real. While 2018 was a truly incredible year, it was also filled with hardship and tears. One of my goals for 2019 is to show you more of my “real” moments. I want to cut the crap, forget the story filters and show you the other side of me that I often try to hide. In all honesty, it’s exhausting trying to “look perfect” all the time, especially on stories. So, get ready to see some messy buns and no makeup videos on your IG feed. Haha!
Something new I’m trying this year is instead of creating New Years resolutions, I have decided on a word that I want to live by for the year. After a lot of pondering, I decided that the word CHALLENGE will be my word for 2019. I chose ‘challenge’ because I want to challenge myself in every aspect of my life. I feel like it encompasses everything that I am working towards whether it be through exercising more, trying new things, working harder, being more productive, pushing myself out of my comfort zone, having more patience with my kids, being on time, keeping the house cleaner, etc. I know that if I were to set specific goals for each of those areas, I’d probably fail. However, if I simply remember to challenge myself, I’m more likely to succeed. I can always do one more rep, give one more hug, leave 5 minutes earlier, wash one more dish…you get the point. I hope you’ll all join me and challenge yourself this year. After all…
“If you don’t challenge yourself, you never know what you’ll become.”
